A complete concept for a newly self-employed pest controller: branding, UX/UI, copy, SEO, imagery and implementation. Instead of fear tactics and chemical imagery, I created a personal website built around an interactive house cross-section.

Owner
Rainer started his own business without a website, a brand or any digital presence.
There was no existing website, brand world or digital infrastructure to build on.
Rainer deliberately wanted to appear personal, transparent and trustworthy instead of relying on pressure, fear and an anonymous emergency-service feel.
The contact came through an existing client. What began as a website project turned into a complete brand build.
A market full of warning signals, chemical imagery and interchangeable emergency-service websites, while the new brand needed to feel exactly the opposite.
Pest control is often presented online in the most threatening way possible. The new site needed to reassure people without downplaying the problem.
Many different pests had to be easy to find without turning the site into an endless catalogue.
Positioning, branding, copy, SEO, imagery and implementation were developed in parallel within a very short timeframe.
I did not recreate the category. I started with how customers actually experience the problem: pests do not appear in categories, they appear in rooms.
A cutaway house makes it visible which pests typically appear in the basement, kitchen, bedroom, attic or garden.
Instead of protective suits, poison sprayers and shock imagery, I developed a bright, friendly and approachable visual world.
Direct contact with Rainer, WhatsApp and a clear first-person perspective replace anonymous hotline communication.
Concept, branding, AI-assisted logo work, UX/UI, copy, SEO, imagery and implementation were designed as one coherent system.
Still too new for robust conversion or SEO metrics, but ready for self-employment in a very short time.
From a blank page to brand, website, content, SEO foundation and finished implementation.
The website deliberately stands apart from the aggressive communication typical of the pest-control market.
Rainer was especially enthusiastic about the house concept and immediately started telling people about it.
Lead, ranking and conversion data will only become reliable with more time in market.
What I take away from it
When you understand how a client experiences their own work, ideas emerge that no category moodboard can provide.
When nearly every competitor communicates in the same way, deliberately thinking differently can become the strongest positioning.
When client and designer are genuinely excited about the solution, bolder ideas and faster decisions follow.

A broad craft offering translated into two clear paths and built into a complete digital brand.

A gifted race track became a clear, bookable event offer in roughly one week.

Live in two days. Then so many enquiries came in that the phone number temporarily had to come off the website.
