My role

Conversion Optimiser, UX Designer, Test Manager, Hands-on Implementation

Worked with

UX/UI Designer · Front-end Developer

01Situation

Every visitor saw the same homepage, regardless of region or need.

No differentiation

One generic A-spot for all of Switzerland.

Weak entry point

The path into the product worlds was neither visible nor intuitive.

Untapped potential

Analytics suggested that visual relevance could improve performance.

02Complication

The question was not whether the header could look better, but whether relevance and guidance would actually sell.

Goal

Faster orientation and a more emotional entry through regional relevance.

Hypothesis

Product bubbles open the route into product categories while a regional image creates proximity.

Open question

Would personalisation justify the implementation effort?

03Approach

An A/B test with a localised A-spot and interactive product bubbles.

Version A

Standard A-spot without personalisation.

Version B

Regional background image plus bubbles for three product categories.

Implementation

Concept, targeting logic, tracking and analysis handled end to end by me.

Significance

Why it worked

The bubbles move users into comparison mode. The question shifts from whether to buy to which option to choose.

What I take away from it

Guidance beats visual size

Three structured bubbles had more impact than a large generic A-spot.

Clarity is marketing

Helping people reach the right destination faster sells more without needing a louder message.

Entry areas should guide, not just attract attention

That has been my benchmark for hero areas ever since.
